Ant Weld Cleaner: More Efficient Stainless Steel Processing
In a world where stainless steel surfaces are an essential part of food production, pharmaceuticals, and many other areas where hygiene is key, the innovation of Ant Weld Cleaner provides an answer to an important challenge – how to make steel safe for reuse and recycling without compromising the highest standards.
A next-generation device for cleaning, polishing, passivation, and marking stainless steel makes it possible to remove a layer up to 10 microns deep, where impurities from welding often remain. With just a few simple steps, the material becomes completely safe for further use and recycling.
What once required a whole team, hours of work, and the use of aggressive chemicals can now be done up to fifteen times faster, without putting safety or quality at risk. Thanks to this innovative solution, operating costs are significantly reduced, energy is saved, and the environmental footprint is minimized. The device combines precision, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, setting new sustainability standards in metal processing.
“The device was created as a response to a very concrete problem. We wanted to deliver a solution that is not only highly effective but also aligned with ecological values. The fact that we can reduce environmental impact while improving production represents a major step forward for us,” says Milan Mikarić, founder of the team behind this innovative project, supported by the European Union through the Innovation Fund’s program.
Financial support and mentoring helped the team to speed up development and secure comprehensive protection of intellectual property, from patents to industrial design. This step proved crucial for entering the market and further expanding. Ant Weld Cleaner was founded in 2022, and its device is already being used in domestic industries where stainless steel processing plays a key role.
The name of the project also carries symbolism that reflects the team’s approach. “While thinking of a name for the device during a family holiday, I noticed a few ants and immediately thought of dedication, system, and persistence. These are the values that have guided us from day one,” adds Milan Mikarić, team founder.
Teamwork, engineering expertise, and a clear focus on sustainable solutions have led to an innovation that is already being applied in Serbian industries and has strong potential for international markets. The solution may be compact in size, but it represents a significant leap forward in improving hygiene standards and efficiency when working with stainless steel, especially in sectors that demand the highest level of cleanliness and safety.
In the next phase, the team is focused on optimizing production and adapting the device to different technological systems, so that it can be easily integrated into various industrial environments. Ant Weld Cleaner is a technological innovation developed in close cooperation with industry and thoroughly tested under real conditions, already changing the way stainless steel is processed in Serbia.
