CONTINUOUS SUPPORT FOR INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT

30.08.2021

The Innovation Fund supported 46 companies with a total of EUR 5.6 million in the last cycle for submitting project proposals through innovation support programs. The Mini Grants Program and the Collaborative Grant Scheme Program will in the coming period enable these companies to develop innovative technologies, products and services with market application and great potential for commercialization.

Interest in the Fund's grants is growing from call to call. More than 280 applications for innovative projects were submitted to the announced public program for the Mini Grants Program and the Collaborative Grant Scheme Program, and informal teams also had the opportunity to apply. More than 130 applications were submitted by the teams, and funding was approved for a total of 18 teams. The largest number of approved projects came from teams and companies from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Cacak, and the most represented areas of projects are information and communication technologies, natural sciences and mechanical engineering.

Those projects that have a capable team, innovative potential, sustainable competitive advantage and clear development plans, as well as sufficient quality to compete in the international market, have been selected for funding. Selected companies with innovative projects also have the task of responding to the expectation that science and innovation are a key factor in competitiveness and sustainable development, which we as a state and society strive for.

The Collaborative Grant Scheme Program especially speaks about the fact that joint projects of researchers and businessmen in Serbia are not only possible but also a potentially inexhaustible source of the necessary added value as a measure of generating value for society as a whole.

Congratulations to companies and scientific research organizations on high quality innovations with high potential for market success.
