Finnish experts decided that Box System won the unique chance of taking part in the programme Helsinki BootCamp and the Slush 2018 conference to be held in Helsinki in November and December.

Box System has designed a product called WooBox that is used to transport fresh foods that require certain temperature conditions. The WooBox is made of wood and wool and is a natural alternative to expanded polystyrene foam. The Box System team strives to become a key figure in the global ecosystem of circular economy and contribute to a more sustainable future.

“We expect to find partners and investors in Scandinavia who would join our concept of replacing Styrofoam by promoting basic insulating materials such as wool and wood. We also hope to expand the network of contacts and possible cooperation with other startups and organizations that have an ecological and green component in their mission,” said Nikica Marinkovic, co-founder of the Box System.

Eleven start-ups took part in the local competition this year, with the ideas they are developing in the field of sustainable innovation. The local Slush competitions, held annually since 2015, were organized by Innovation Fund and Embassy of Finland in Belgrade.

The Slush conference, one of the largest of its kind in Europe, offers start-ups the opportunity to present themselves to a large number of investors and companies, while the BootCamp programme provides a chance to improve their skills and business models. Last year, this two-day conference brought together 20,000 visitors from 130 countries, including more than 2,600 start-ups and 1,600 investors. This year, the Slush Conference will be held on December 4th and 5th.
